Thirumullavaram Beach
6 km north of Kollam town about a quiet day far away from the madding crowd. If that sounds like something you'd really enjoy, check out the secluded. Thirumullavaram Beach, beautiful picnics spot that has been a favorite haunt of locals and tourists alike. There are lots of buses to the beach from Kollam town. Kollam Railway Station, about 75 km away and by air its too far from here because Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is about 72 km from Kollam town.

Mayyanad
Mayyanad is a beautiful village situated in Kollam district of Kerala and is about 10 Kms south of Kollam city. Frequent buses can reach Mayyanad from Kollam and Kottiyam and by local train from Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. Mayyanad is situated on the banks of the Paravur Lake. Mayyanad's costal line along the Arabian Sea is famous for its fishing.

Sasthamkotta
Situated about 33 kms, from the municipal town of Kollam. Sasthamcotta is blessed by nature. The place abounds in scenic beauty, is the seat of the famed Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, boasts of the largest natural fresh water lake in the world where fresh water is available 365 days a year.

Palaruvi Waterfalls
This beautiful waterfall is about 75 kms from Kollam on the Kollam-Shencottah road. June to January is the best time to visit this Place. Palaruvi - literally, stream of milk - is one of Kerala's most picturesque waterfalls, cascading down a height of 300 feet. It is a favorite picnic spot for visitors from all over south India. The journey to Palaruvi through the dense tropical forest is a spellbinding experience. The surrounding mist-clad blue hills and green valleys form a stunning backdrop to the milk white burst of foam that resounds through the otherwise tranquil virgin forest. Visitors love the cool shower. Ayurvedic physicians sometimes prescribe a bath in the waters of Palaruvi.

Achencoil
Situated about 80 kms from Punalur. It is an important pilgrim center in kerala. The Sastha temple here, situated amidst dense forest. The idol of Sastha is supposed to have been installed several centuries before the Christian era. The two important festivals of this temple are Mandala Pooja (December-January) and the festival held at ‘Revathi’ (January-February). The two notable features of the festival are the Therotam (chariot festival) and Pushpabhishekam (offering of flowers). In no other temple of the South India are flowers offered to the deity so lavishly as at Achencoil.

Anchal
Anchal is known for its cattle market held twice a month. The Mudi festival of the Bhagavathy temple here, conducted once every 12 years, attract huge gatherings.

Aryankavu
The chief attraction of Aryankavu is the shrine dedication of Lord Sastha. The temple has some fine sculptures and mural paintings. All trains towards Shencottah have a stop at Aryankavu. About 5 kms away from Aryankavu there is a big waterfall known as Palaravi Meaning River of milk. It is one of the well-known waterfalls in the south India, falling from a height of 300 feet.
